Strip Heaters

Strip heaters—also referred to as clamp or component heaters—are efficient heating solutions designed around the principle of convection air heating. They rely on surface contact to transfer heat effectively, making them ideal for a wide range of industrial applications. Known for their simplicity and performance, strip heaters utilize advanced heating technologies to deliver reliable thermal output.

Each strip heater consists of a resistance heating element housed within a protective sheath, with the entire assembly supported by insulation and mounting hardware. Typically, a nickel-chromium wire coil is positioned centrally within the heater and surrounded by compacted magnesium oxide (MgO), which provides excellent thermal conductivity and high dielectric strength.

Once assembled, the unit is encased in a metal sheath suited to the application—commonly stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials—to protect against oxidation and wear. These heaters are designed to be easily installed by clamping or bolting onto surfaces or components that require heat.

Temperature control is straightforward, often managed using external devices such as thermostats or digital temperature controllers. For optimal performance and safety, it’s important to select an appropriate sheath material and watt density based on the operating environment and application needs.

Strip heaters offer versatility in design and can be manufactured in a range of shapes and sizes to suit custom requirements. As a cost-effective heating option, they provide a practical and durable solution for many industrial heating tasks without compromising on efficiency.
